Postdoctoral Research Fellow

Dr. Jamie Kwon (she/her) is a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at Urban Health Collaborative. Her research uses longitudinal data from the Multi-ethnic Study of Atherosclerosis to examine individual and environmental factors that promote independent community living among older adults. Jamie's work explores the relationship between urban design, aging, and disability, with a focus on how environmental factors influence physical health and health disparities.

Dr. Kwon received her Ph.D. in Urban Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. Her dissertation used quantitative and qualitative methods to examine the role of private vehicles and income in expanding transportation access for people with disabilities, providing actionable insights for policymakers and urban planners. Prior to joining the UHC, she served as a Post-Doctoral Research Associate at the Institute on Disability at the University of New Hampshire.
