Derek comes to the Urban Health Collaborative with more than 16 years of experience in higher education, where he most recently served as the Associate Director for the Division of Epidemiology at the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to coming to Philadelphia, Derek was director of student services and special Projects for the School of Engineering at The Citadel, student affairs manager at the College of Pharmacy at the University of Florida, and Enrollment Services coordinator at Valencia College, a large multi-county community college in Orlando. Derek’s professional background includes management, process improvement, student/client centered design, enrollment management, advising, project and event management, recruitment/outreach, training, and policy development. Derek received both his MA in Instructional Design & Educational Technology and his BS in Psychology from the University of Central Florida. In his free time, Derek enjoys running, biking, and spending time with his dog Dallas (whose name is unrelated to the city or team).
