Ana Lucía Peralta, MD, MSCI

Ana Lucía Peralta is a doctoral student in the Epidemiology and Biostatistics department advised by Drs. Mariana Lazo and Usama Bilal. She earned her medical degree at Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala and her MS in Clinical Investigation at Tulane University. Prior to coming to Drexel, Ana Lucía worked as research assistant at Tulane University School of Public Health, where she supported the development of several randomized trials aiming to improve hypertension control and reduce cardiovascular health disparities in New Orleans, Colombia and Jamaica. She had previously worked at the INCAP Research Center for the Prevention of Chronic Diseases (CIIPEC) where she coordinated the field implementation of a trial aiming to improve Hypertension control in Guatemala. Her research interests include the social determinants of chronic diseases, health disparities in Latin America and the U.S, and the development and implementation of community-based health interventions.
