WorldFAIR: Global Cooperation on FAIR Data Policy and Practice

Salud Urbana en América Latina (SALURBAL), has been selected for a collaboration with the Committee on Data (CODATA) of the International Science Council for a project funded by the European Commission through its Horizon Europe Framework Programme. WorldFAIR will run for 24 months from 1 June 2022. The project is a collaboration between 19 partners around the world including prominent research institutions and scholarly organizations from Africa, Australasia, Europe, and North and South America. This work will form the core of CODATA’s contribution to the International Science Council (ISC) Action Plan.
Ana Ortigoza, MD, PhD, MPH, MS, senior research scientist II at the Urban Health Collaborative and SALURBAL is the lead for the project. SALURBAL will provide expertise gained on city- definition and data integration to support the implementation of FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) and CARE (Collective benefit, Authority to control, Responsibility, and Ethics) data principles through the elaboration of consensus on terminologies, procedures, and best practices recommendations that facilitates the use of health data in cities for research and action.
