For a student organization, a website creates a core foundation that solidifies its public image, and facilitates interaction with its viewers.

During the hot Summer of 2018, the Drexel Smart House executive board has been quietly working to take their website into the future. Partnering with the Drexel IRT department, the team has worked diligently for three months to move from their now past website to a whole new and improved look and feel under the drexel.edu domain. Bringing the website under a common location with many other departments and organizations at Drexel University allows DSH to solidify it's place as an important and historically relevant piece to the University's history. Additionally, this move will allow the team to keep the website up-to-date with the current organizational happenings.

Joshua Cohen, current Drexel Smart House President believes that the update will allow new and prospective members, advisors, and sponsors to get a better picture about what the organization currently does, rather than the website serving as a historical snapshot. New features allows event feeds to be streamed automatically, internal and external news to be featured on the homepage, updated project lists, and quick access to current processes and documentation.

In addition to this new domain being under drexel.edu/smarthouse, Drexel Smart House plans to configure its old domain drexelsmarthouse.com to forward to the new website as well.

The website you are currently reading this article on is set to go live some-time in mid-October.
