Sami Sienkiewicz is a senior dance major with the performance and custom track. She is currently in the Drexel Dance Ensemble for the winter and spring show. Sami started dancing when she was about 8 years old. She started taking classes that are non-competition dance classes and competition classes like jazz, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop, musical theater, modern, and tap and she started to fall in love with dance, and she has a strong passion of it. She also got to participate in the American College Dance Festival at Seton Hill University from February 27th to March 3rd and She was able to perform in the group dance.

Sami Sienkiewicz’s project is a self-choreographed solo performance surrounding her growth as an academic and as a dancer. Through the research-based choreography process, she will take an introspective look at her self-expression, resilience, and curiosity as an artist. The creation of this solo includes movement sparked from a retrospective analysis of her personal choreographic process with the goal of reflecting her time in Drexel’s dance program. By constantly asking questions and viewing her choreographic evolution with curiosity, she hopes to produce a solo that reflects an equitable representation of her growth as a dancer.  Sami will present her senior solo project at Britt's off campus studio on May 17th at 7:30- 8 pm.
