Rebecca Wolin is a senior Dance Major with a concentration in Dance/Creative Movement Therapy and a minor in Somatics. She was born and raised in New Jersey where she trained in both commercial and concert dance styles. Post graduation Rebecca is attending the Master of Arts program for Dance/Movement Therapy and Counseling. As an aspiring Dance Movement Therapist, Rebecca has been refining her skill sets in the industry through work in Philadelphia schools with the Community Engaged Movement Partnerships Touring Ensemble, the Drexel Dance Ensemble, and is a current intern with Philadelphia Ballet’s Community Education and Public Programs Department. This work in various communities sparked the interest for her research.

Rebecca’s senior project is an exploration into how neurodivergent dancers’ emotional responses to movement differ in various movement modalities. By focusing on emotional awareness during movement, her research aims to contribute to a broader understanding of embodied experiences among neurodivergent dancers. Using a series of movement exercises and interviews she will shine light on the experiences of a community that has been largely underrepresented in the research of neurodivergent individuals. Rebecca’s research findings will culminate in a dance film representing the synthesis of her findings through movement and dance.
