In the spirit of collaboration, Entertainment & Arts Management senior Dustin Magidson spearheaded the creation of a new musical project and album with the help of members from the Drexel community. His songwriting supplemented by the work of other Drexel students and alumni in order to create something unique to the current time we find ourselves living in.
The album focuses on the difficulties of coming of age in an increasingly distanced world. It highlights the modern-day struggles of isolation, mental health awareness, socio-political strife, and learning to share and collaborate in a world lacking social intimacy.
Dustin used his experience from performing and recording, as well as his Drexel co-op experience within artist management to bring to life a project not beholden to rules and standards around genres and pop music. Dustin and his collaborative team worked to blend different forms, including pop, electronic, folk, rock, and experimental music to bring about something new and distinctive. His goal was to represent the struggles facing each and every one of us during a time of unprecedented seclusion, and resonate with those feeling lost and separated.
