Dance faculty member, Britt Fishel, recently performed at the Florence Biennale in Florence, Italy. Florence Biennale is a major contemporary art event in Florence, Italy, now in its 13th edition. The theme of the XIII edition of the Florence Biennale, which was held from 23 to 31 October 2021 at the Fortezza da Basso in Florence, focused on the polychrome and multiform universe of femininity.

Britt Fishel and Artists presented REDACT, performed in the biennale gallery spaces, theatre, and outdoors, every day for 8 days. REDACT investigates gender gap data, gender politics, and internalized sexism, while confronting invisible identities of women and the way women are erased. Britt Fishel and Artists won the Primo Premio "Lorenzo il Magnifico" Award in Performance, for the work. Congrats, Britt!
