Rebecca Oehlers March 1, 2019 Becky Oehlers, adjunct voice faculty member and an alto in the 24-voice critically acclaimed Philadelphia choir, The Crossing, is now the proud recipient of a second consecutive Grammy Award. The all-professional choir again took home the Grammy for Best Choral Performance of the Year. The Crossing is a choir dedicated to the performance and commissioning of new works by living composers. Most recently, Becky performed with the women of The Crossing in Julia Wolfe's "Fire in My Mouth" as a soloist and ensemble member with the New York Philharmonic. This piece commemorates NYC's infamous 1911 Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire and was given a rave review in the New York Times. Upcoming appearances include singing with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the Klockriketeatern in Finland. The Crossing also serves as Artists-in-Residence every summer at the Warren Miller Theater in Big Sky, Montana. Becky has been on the voice faculty at Drexel since 1997.
