Kara DeLucia is a senior Entertainment and Arts Management major with a concentration in Performing Arts and a Music Performance Minor. Kara's career interests lie in the process of putting together art events through venue and artist management as well as event programming so that musicians and artists can create shared experiences with their audiences. As a musician, well-versed in both the front and back ends of performance, Kara has a great deal of admiration for the process and occurrence of sharing human emotions and stories through art.
Kara has been a performer for seven years now playing in bar bands in both the PA and NJ area. Since arriving at Drexel, she has joined the Drexel Jazz Orchestra, sang with the All College Choir, and partook in Drexel's Late Night Series. Kara's biggest joy in her music career at Drexel has been studying under Rebecca Oehlers. Through her voice lessons she feels she has developed a completely new amount of respect and awe towards the tool that is the human voice and how we can use it.
For her Senior Project and Senior Recital, Kara was involved in producing, organizing, managing, hosting, and performing at World Café Live Upstairs with her band Baepsae. The show had two primary goals in mind. Firstly, it was created to highlight the many cover bands that are told for a variety of reasons that they should not or cannot perform. Secondly, Kara wanted to introduce her audience to a wide variety of genres, artists and songs which they may have never heard of before. Overall, Baepsae at World Café Live Upstairs was a night of storytelling, sharing of information and joy.
