National Institutes of Health (NIH) Postbac Program

The NIH Postbac Program is an opportunity for recent college graduates to spend one or two years performing full-time research in the Intramural Research Program at the NIH. Applicants should be considering graduate or professional school in healthcare or STEM fields.

Postbacs train in research groups directed by a Principal Investigator (PI). The program offers research opportunities in the biomedical, behavioral, and social sciences with opportunities to explore basic, translational, and clinical research. Students with experience in biology, engineering, epidemiology, psychology, mathematics, chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, nursing, physics, computer science, bioinformatics, and other health-related fields are invited to apply.
