Prepping Application Materials: Personal Statements and Letters of Recommendation

A workshop for undergraduates on writing personal statements and obtaining letters of recommendation for scholarships, fellowships, graduate school applications, and more. Participants will receive tips and best practices for writing a personal statement, learn what information to gather when preparing to write, and how to navigate some of the challenges of telling your story and writing about yourself. Participants will also learn how to develop strong relationships, receive tips on asking for letters, and consider how to prepare their recommenders to write them great letters. Sample letters will be reviewed, and participants will receive resources to help them make their ask when it comes time to find recommenders.
