October 26, 2022

Congratulations to the 22 Drexel students and alumni who recently submitted applications to the Fulbright U.S. Student Program!

These applicants represent 18 different fields of study and 10 different Drexel schools and colleges. Applicants include current seniors, master’s and doctoral candidates, and alumni. They submitted applications to Fulbright programs across 14 different countries with three applying to English Teaching Assistantships, 11 to research programs, eight to graduate programs, and one for artistic and creative work.

The majority of these students have gone through a rigorous campus review process to ultimately be endorsed by the university to apply for Fulbright. We congratulate them on their hard work and dedication so far and wish them the best of luck in the national review process! In addition to congratulating the applicants, we would like to thank the more than sixty Drexel faculty and staff who supported these candidates through service on interview committees.

The Fulbright U.S. Student Program supports students for one year of graduate study, research, creative projects or teaching worldwide. The program is one of the largest academic exchanges in the world, providing approximately 1,900 grants annually in all fields of study and in more than 140 participating countries. Applicants must be U.S. citizens.

Fulbright Student grants provide recent BS/BA graduates, master's and doctoral candidates, young professionals and artists with opportunities for personal and professional development. During their grants, Fulbrighters meet, work, live with and learn from the people of the host country, sharing daily experiences and gaining an appreciation of others’ viewpoints, behaviors, and cultures. By facilitating individual, cross-cultural interaction in an atmosphere of openness, academic integrity, and intellectual freedom, the program aims to foster mutual understanding.
