Drexel Students Win DAAD RISE Scholarships

Congratulations to Brian Dolhansky, BS/MS Computer Engineering, Prativa Kharel, BS/MS Electrical Engineering, and Mickey Whitzer, BS Mechanical Engineering. They will be participating in summer research internships in Germany as part of the DAAD RISE Program. All three will be assisting German PhD students with their dissertation research.
Brian will be working on communication network development at the Technical University in Dortmund. Prativa will be at the Institute of Energy and Climate Research in Juelich, working on a project to investigate the development of efficient and low-cost thin film silicon solar modules. Mickey will be conducting research in the field of mechanical design of robot components at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).
The DAAD RISE Program offers 2-3 month research internships in science and engineering with German doctoral students at universities and research institutions on the undergraduate level and at German companies on the graduate level. RISE scholars receive stipends from the DAAD to help cover living expenses and airfare, while partner universities and research institutes provide housing assistance.
