Nepal Collection Featured Artist: PRITHVI SHRESTHA “The works presented here eloquently articulate the artist’s social and culturally grounded interests. While grappling with global issues such as technology, climate crisis, human greed, loss of identity and the imperceptible forces shaping our existence through a Western artistic medium, Shrestha’s creations remain firmly anchored in Nepalese culture. The artist employs a diverse array of traditional emblems to convey his message. The paintings boast a vibrant palette of traditional colors, enriched with religious references. They visually evoke the sacred elements of Buddhism and Hindusim, and portray among others emblems the elephant-headed Hindu god Ganesh, the creative force embodied by the god Brahma symbolized through the lotus, the god Shiva’s trident, and the conch shell associated with the god Vishnu.” Come visit the gallery on Wednesday, March 13th to meet Prithvi and see his work in the Nalin Collection!
