State Affairs

Drexel’s Office of Government and Community Relations works closely with the Pennsylvania General Assembly and the Administration to craft policies that support the higher education and research community that is so critical to the economic development of the Commonwealth. We meet regularly with the Governor, the members of the Pennsylvania House and Senate and their staffs to update them on all that we are doing at Drexel University and solicit their support of our efforts. In addition, we also serve as a resource to these public officials, frequently hosting public hearings and providing expert testimony as they seek to make this Commonwealth a better place in which to live, learn and do business. Drexel is a world class comprehensive research institution that serves an important role in the Commonwealth and also is unlike any other in large part due to our cooperative education program. It is incumbent upon this office to make sure that our public officials in Harrisburg are aware of our efforts and support Drexel’s students, faculty and professional staff as we strive to make an even greater positive impact on our city, state and nation.
