Programs, Events, and Opportunities
First Forward hosts a variety of events each year for first-generation students, faculty, staff, and their allies. Some examples of our regular events are below:
Programs and Events
- Welcome Week: This is an opportunity for students, faculty, and professional staff who are first-generation college students to come together informally for conversation and networking during Welcome Week.
- National First-Gen Day: November 8 honors the anniversary of the signing of the Higher Education Act of 1965 to open higher education to minorities and those from low-income backgrounds. Drexel celebrates by hosting a week-long series of events.
- Graduation Celebration: An opportunity to recognize the graduation of first-generation seniors and graduate students.
