Peer Mentees
If you're a first-year, second-year*, or transfer student that is first-generation college or identifies as an historically underrepresented student of color, then you're eligible to become a Mentee in the Ascent Peer Mentor program with the Center for Inclusive Education (CIES).
*Second-year students may choose to join Ascent as a Mentor or a Mentee, depending on your personal goals and comfort level supporting another student.
Qualifications
To become a Mentee, one must be:
- An undergraduate student in your first or second year at Drexel or a new transfer student
- Able to commit five (5) hours per term
Requirements
- Attend in-person, on campus events.
- Attend Ascent Introductory Meeting to meet your Mentor(s) in person.
- Participate in face-to-face meetings with Mentor(s) twice per term.
- Attend celebratory end-of-term dinner at the end of the six-month cycle.
- Online Surveys
- Provide feedback to CIES professional staff and Ascent Leadership Team regarding your experience with Ascent through a 10-minute survey at the end of the cycle.
- Maintain clear and timely communication with Ascent Leadership Team.

- Receive all resources and support offered by the CIES, including but not limited to:
- Participation in developmental events offered throughout the academic year.
- Access to CIES' collaborative study spaces located on the first floor of MacAlister Hall.
- Access to CIES' physical resources from our Lending Library: textbooks, laptops, lab coats, and other student necessities.
