Compute and storage resources are allocated in multiples of common accounting unit called a Service Unit (SU).
The current price for 1 SU is $0.0123 (effective until June 30, 2023) and the following scaling factors apply to the different resources.

Billing
Billing is calculated monthly from data collected by the SLURM system for compute resources and separately for storage use. The billing is submitted to the Office of Research and Innovation Finance Team for processing. Monthly usage and billing statements are also communicated to faculty by email. Faculty users can use SLURM to determine their usage of the system or request usage data from the URCF staff.
Monthly credit for non-sponsored research
Drexel faculty are eligible for $100/month credit on Picotte to use for non-sponsored projects (research activities not otherwise funded by federal grants). The Office of Research and Innovation provides this credit to promote advanced computing for research.
If a cost center (fund-org) is not provided for a project, the allocation/per faculty will be limited to $100/month. If a non-sponsored cost center (start up, overhead return, or other non-sponsored project) is provided then charges in excess of $100/month will be billed to that cost center. Projects supported by grants and other sponsored funds are not eligible for the monthly credit.
Board Administered Grants
Faculty can request Board Grants from ORI to support additional non-sponsored research. To apply for a Board Grant, please contact Geoffrey Mainland at mainland@drexel.edu. The URCF Governance Board evaluates grant requests based on the merits. Preference will be given to projects leading to development of proposals that will budget for paid use of the URCF resources.
