Overview

The Community Outreach Team (COT) is a community-based violence prevention program aimed at engaging youth (ages 14 to 24) who are exposed to and impacted by community violence and trauma. COT provides peer support and behavioral health services through partnerships with local youth-focused community organizations. COT interventions include CYPHER groups, evidenced-based trauma therapy and individual peer support/case management.
One on One Peer support/case management includes linkage to community services such as employment, driver’s license, SNAP benefits etc. COT Peer professionals also model healthy coping skills and instill hope for individuals impacted by traumatic experiences.
