As Vice Provost for Innovation, Shintaro leads Drexel’s efforts to transform Drexel research and scholarly outputs to real-world impact. Shintaro is also the Executive Director of Drexel Applied Innovation and is responsible for all aspects of Drexel tech transfer, industry sponsored research support, entrepreneurial training and venture creation programs. 

Shintaro holds a BS in Electrical & Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Shintaro is the first Kauffman Fellow from academic tech transfer; Kauffman Fellows is a global fellowship of tier-1 and best emerging venture capital professionals as well as limited partners. It was originally founded in 1994 by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation.
