College of Medicine Classes of 1970 Welcome Reception and Dinner

Start off Alumni Weekend with fellow graduates from the Classes of 1970! Enjoy the ornate ambiance and delicious food and libations at Estia Greek and Mediterranean Restaurant in Center City, Philadelphia. Grab a drink, pick up your Memory Book and take part in a class photo at the welcome reception. Then continue the celebration with your classmates, from either Hahnemann University or Woman’s Medical College, for a private prix fixe dinner.
Alumni Spirits Tasting
Thursday, May 14; 6 to 8 p.m. | The Study at University City, 20 South 33rd Street
Barrel aging is for more than just whiskey. Join us for a tasting of various barrel-aged spirits led by Olivia Babiec ’15, distiller at Philadelphia Distilling, and pair them with dishes prepared by the chefs at The Study.
College of Medicine Commencement

Members of the Classes of 1970 from Woman's Medical College and Hahnemann University are invited as special guests to attend and receive recognition at this year’s College of Medicine Commencement. Breakfast and regalia are provided (someone from the Office of Alumni Relations will be in touch to for regalia sizing). Additional event details will be emailed to attendees in May.

The Legacy Center houses a unique collection of historical records and archives from Woman’s Medical College, Hahnemann University, Medical College of Pennsylvania and Drexel University College of Medicine. During this special tour curated for your classes, an archivist will show you how these valuable records are stored. A light lunch will be provided.

Looking Back and Looking Forward: Drexel History Discussion and Golden Dragon Society Award Presentation

Travel back in time with a lecture about Drexel’s fascinating history from Scott Knowles, PhD, department head and associate professor of the Department of history, and co-editor of “Building Drexel: The University and Its City, 1891 – 2016,” which chronicles Drexel’s first 125 years. The Golden Dragon Society Award will also be presented.

Brunch at the Barnes: Experiencing Art for Personal and Professional Success

Through a joint venture pioneered by Drexel’s Physician Assistant Program, educational experts at the Barnes have developed programming that teaches participants critical work and life skills through observing and discussing art. Join us for this specially-designed event experience and immerse yourself in this program which has been applied to disciplines as diverse as medicine, business, social justice, public service and education. After brunch, you’ll be given guided prompts for how to view the artwork and will reconvene for a discussion about your experience.
Drexel Serves: Our Closet and Cradles to Crayons

In this family-friendly event in partnership with the Lindy Center for Civic Engagement, Our Closet and Cradles to Crayons, help sort clothing that will be distributed to local community members in the Greater Philadelphia area. These organizations have the collective goal of providing the basic need of clothing to vulnerable individuals and their families. Clothing donations are also welcome!

Includes a private lunch with fellow Dragons and complimentary parking. Per museum policy, adults must be accompanied by a child. No single adults admitted.

This year as Drexel After Dark heads back to the Main Building, guests will go back in time to the 1920s! Get dolled up, grab your best guy, gal or pal and join us for themed food, drinks and entertainment. From a speakeasy in the A.J. Drexel Picture Gallery, to swing dance lessons, to amazing photo ops and other surprises, Drexel After Dark is guaranteed to be the bee’s knees! 1920s attire isn’t required but is highly encouraged.
Haven Recovery Meeting
