DegreeWorks FAQs

  • Disable pop-up blockers or set your browser settings to allow pop-ups for one.drexel.edu and bannerweb.drexel.edu.
  • Close and re-open the application from the Faculty tab in DrexelOne. This usually resolves the issue if a brief network outage has caused the page to become unresponsive. If the problem persists, Drexel faculty and staff can contact ais_degreeworks@drexel.edu to ask for DegreeWorks to be restarted.
  • Clear your browser cache and cookies
  • Open DegreeWorks in a different browser. Web browser updates can sometimes break compatibility with the DegreeWorks application. The functionality of specific tools (ie. Plans) can also be impacted by web browser updates even while the rest of the DegreeWorks application remains unaffected.
  • Connect to the Drexel VPN or another available network. Access to DegreeWorks and other Drexel applications may be blocked by certain business and other network policies.
  • Access DegreeWorks at a different time. The standard window reserved for system maintenance is Sunday morning from 12:00 am until 6:00 am, so the application may be unavailable during that time. Planned and unplanned outages can be viewed on Drexel IT's website.

First, try clearing your cache (see above). If this does not resolve the issue, contact ais_degreeworks@drexel.edu to have your access reset to advisor level. Your access will be set to student level if you access DegreeWorks through the Student tab in DrexelOne. If you are taking classes and wish to view your own record, you should still access the system through the Faculty tab and enter your own University ID number in the Student ID field.

Click the Process New button to pull in the latest information from Banner and to update the worksheet. Information in DegreeWorks refreshes nightly between 1:00 am and 2:00 am. A new worksheet is processed when a student accesses their own record, when an advisor accesses a student’s record, or when the Process New button is clicked. If a student’s record is updated during the day (e.g., during the registration period), a new audit may need to be processed manually for the changes to appear in DegreeWorks.

  • If the student has multiple degrees, you may need to select the appropriate degree from the drop-down list above the worksheet to view the appropriate major requirements. The order of the degrees listed in the drop-down list is based on the priority order in Banner.
  • If the major is not listed, or is listed incorrectly, in the student information section, contact the Office of the University Registrar to verify that the information is correct.
  • If the correct major is listed in the student information section, but the requirements appear to be incorrect, please submit a ticket to ais_degreeworks@drexel.edu including the University ID number of the student for further investigation.
  • If the minor or concentration is not listed in the student information section at the top of the worksheet, please submit a Change of Curriculum or Change of Minor form to have the concentration or minor added to the student's records. If the form has already been submitted, contact the Office of the University Registrar to check on the status of the program change.
  • If the minor or concentration is listed in the student information section, but the requirements appear to be incorrect, please submit a ticket to ais_degreeworks@drexel.edu including the University ID number of the student for further investigation.

The advisor listing can be updated in Banner by sending a ticket to ais_student@drexel.edu. Please include the student population that should be reassigned (by major, last name, attribute, etc.) as well as the new advisor that should be listed. Once the update is made in Banner, the correct advisor will be listed in DegreeWorks.

Courses in the “Credits/Courses not counting towards degree” section typically cannot be applied to the audit with exceptions as they are failed (F/NP), withdrawn, or courses that have no earned credit attached to them.

Please email ais_degreeworks@drexel.edu and include the University ID number of the student, the course you are trying to apply, and the rule to which you are trying to apply the course for further investigation.

Requirements in DegreeWorks are specific to the academic year of the student, so changes made to program requirements will not be applied retroactively to students who started in previous academic years. Please check the Catalog archive to see if the requirements in DegreeWorks match the listed requirements for the academic year of the student. If the requirements in the Catalog do not match the requirements in DegreeWorks for a particular academic year, please email ais_degreeworks@drexel.edu and include the University ID numbers of the impacted students for further investigation.

Please email ais_degreeworks@drexel.edu to discuss the options available to ensure that students will be able to complete their degree requirements. Please include information about the academic years of the program requirements that will be impacted by the discontinuation of courses.

Please email ais_degreeworks@drexel.edu to inform us when new options are available. Please note that while we can add additional options, pre-existing courses or majors cannot be removed from past academic years even if they are no longer offered under the revised program requirements.
