2022 - Reassembling the Pieces: Emerging from the Pandemic in Higher Education with a Clear Vision Forward After much deliberation within the conference committee, it was decided for the 2022 Assessment Conference we would remate virtual. As much as we all enjoy hosing our attendees on campus and out of an abundance of caution we knew we were making the correct decision. We also decided as a committee to only dedicate one day to the virtual conference. Three days in 2020 and in 2021 for a virtual conference just didn’t seem feasible. However, we knew that one of our strengths was always putting on a robust program with interesting and thought provoking topics. Even though the conference was only one day, it was full of content. An opening plenary titled “Learning is the New Pension” brought together assessment professionals from four different universities and was moderated by a representative from Helio Campus (one of our incredible sponsors). And a luncheon panel titled, “What Accreditors Don’t Tell You but Probably Should” gave three seasoned assessment professionals from different universities the chance to give the group insight, tips, and trick to a successful accreditation process. In 2022, the conference also provided 14 individual concurrent sessions, a snapshot session which comprised 8 mini presentations, and a graduate poster session. Although the conference was paired down in 2022 from three days to one, we as the conference committee feel is was successful and our thoughts were reinforced after hearing feedback from our attendees. And this is all to say a successful virtual conference wouldn’t be possible without the incredible conference platform Whova and their amazing team. We are looking forward to another successful conference in 2023 and hope to see you all in September!
