The Department of Architecture, Design & Urbanism, part of Drexel University’s Westphal College of Media Arts & Design, received its reaccreditation from the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB). The NAAB team visited Westphal’s facilities, met with faculty and students, and conducted a thorough evaluation of the Architecture program before granting an eight-year term of accreditation.

As the sole agency authorized to accredit US professional degree programs in architecture, the NAAB’s mission is to develop and maintain a system of accreditation in professional architecture education that is responsive to the needs of society. Westphal’s Architecture program seeks to respond to the needs of students and future professionals, providing hands-on studio curriculum and opportunities for students to work in the industry while pursuing their degree. Since most state registration boards in the United States require any applicant for licensure to have graduated from a NAAB-accredited program, obtaining such a degree is an essential aspect of preparing for the professional practice of architecture.

Drexel University’s Westphal College of Media Arts & Design Department of Architecture, Design & Urbanism offers the following NAAB-accredited degree program: Bachelor of Architecture. The next NAAB accreditation visit will be held in 2026.
