MS in Higher Education
The MS in Higher Education is an online program that prepares students with the practical skills, knowledge, and experience to become professionals and leaders in higher education institutions, national and international associations and organizations, government agencies, non-profit organizations, and corporations.
The program is designed to prepare students for their next steps, wherever they may be. Our students work toward career advancement, new careers or future doctoral studies. Students in the program include experienced higher education managers, professionals looking to change careers and recent bachelor’s degree recipients who are new to the field. Every Drexel student benefits from the invaluable real-world insights of their peers and Drexel faculty.
Students graduate with a primary concentration in higher education administration & leadership and an optional, secondary three-course concentration in one of the following areas:
- Educational policy
- Enrollment management
- Institutional research and planning
- Global and international education
- Learning technologies and instructional design
- Student development and affairs
- Community college leadership and administration
- Neuroscience, Learning and Online Instruction
Students may also design their own area of interest from over 35 elective courses available within the School of Education. Admissions decisions are made on a rolling basis. The MS in Higher Education admits new students for fall and spring terms.
Drexel’s highly interactive e-learning method allows extensive interaction with faculty and practitioners in higher education systems. The graduate co-op program, an important feature of the degree program, provides invaluable field experience. This co-op is designed to prepare you for the next stage of your career and can be completed with no interruption to your current work schedule.
The MS in Higher Education is offered entirely online.

Every student is assigned an academic advisor to answer questions and address issues that arise during study, from course selection and program requirements to time management and networking with fellow students.
Students receive support in career placement and advancement, ranging from help in identifying career goals to accessing current job listings and networking opportunities.
