Dr. David Breen publishes article in Fly
May 15, 2013 — Dr. David Breen, associate professor of computer science, published the article "Automated Analysis of Courtship Suppression Learning and Memory in Drosophila Melanogaster" in the latest issue of the journal Fly. The article describes software that analyzes videos of fly courtship behaviors and then correctly identifies normal or abnormal learning and memory traits of individual flies. Co-authors include Md. Alimoor Reza, Calvin Morrison, Siddhita Mhatre, Suruchi Utreja, Dr. Aleister Saunders and Dr. Daniel Marenda. The last four co-authors are members of Drexel's Biology Department. The paper is based on Reza's Computer Science M.S. thesis.
