Undergraduate, Graduate Computing Students Inducted into Upsilon Pi Epsilon, Dec. 5, 2012

Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering and Information Science and Technology students were inducted into Upsilon Pi Epsilon (UPE), international honor society for computing and information disciplines, Dec. 5, 2012.

During the 32nd ceremony at Drexel, 48 undergraduate and graduate students with outstanding achievement and scholarship in computing made UPE’s pledge to uphold technological contributions to society and maintain high standards in their academic life.

UPE is dedicated to promoting the computing and information disciplines. It encourages members to contribute to the enhancement of knowledge in the field.

Founded in 1967 at Texas A&M University, UPE is the only international honor society for the computing and information disciplines, having chapters at 230 colleges and universities in the U.S. and overseas.

Drexel University was chartered in 1989 as the fifth chapter of the state of Pennsylvania to the Association by the Executive Council of UPE. You can learn more information about UPE at www.acm.org/upe.

Drexel’s next UPE Induction Ceremony is scheduled for the Spring 2013. UPE will also be hosting its 4th Annual Alumni Dinner, with a research reception hosted by the Department of Computer Science, Friday, Feb. 22, 2013.
