This month, the College of Nursing and Health professions is excited to showcase the unique student organizations that align with our diverse range of majors. With over 300 unique student organizations at Drexel, this list is intended to highlight some of the organizations that offer the potential to enhance one’s academic journey, foster community and strengthen career readiness in the fields of nursing and health sciences.

American Medical Women’s Association at Drexel

The American Medical Women's Association is an organization that functions at the local, national and international level to advance women in medicine and improve women's health. They achieve this by providing and developing leadership, advocacy, education, expertise, mentoring and strategic alliances.

Drexel Nutrition Association

Drexel Nutrition Association aims to connect all undergraduate and graduate students interested in nutrition and food by building nutrition awareness on campus and in the community through guided direction from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. We are involved in nutrition and health community service and other fun activities that allow us to grow as a strong organization!

Drexel Pre-Dental Health Society

The Drexel Pre-Dental Society is for students at Drexel University who are trying to pursue a future career in dentistry. The club will provide information on applying to dental schools and the process which will make them more competitive applicants. Events will be held each quarter for this club. Events will include various speakers and representatives from various dental schools, such as dental students, dentists or admission officers, who will speak about the admission process in more depth and their experiences in the field.

Drexel Pre-PA Club

Drexel Pre-PA club is a student organization aimed to prepare our members academically and professionally to be the best applicants possible for physician assistant (PA) graduate schools. We are dedicated to becoming more involved in the physician assistant community, by gaining awareness of current issues related to physician assistants, health care and PA education.

Drexel Pre-PT Club

This club is designed for undergraduate Drexel students interested in the field of physical therapy. The main objectives are: creating networks in the PT community; building relationships with other students interested in pursuing a career in physical therapy; gaining awareness of current issues happening in the PT field, health care and PT education; preparing for PT graduate school applications and educationp promotion of service; and volunteer experiences.

Drexel University Student Nurses Association's mission is to facilitate student involvement in advancing the standards of nursing education and the educational process and to advocate for health care, nursing education and nursing practice through legislative activity at the local, state and national levels. We strive to promote and encourage civic engagement by participation in community activities and affairs that improve the health and social issues of our communities.

Drexel University Pre-Veterinary Medical Association

Our mission is to strive to provide support and knowledge that will assist in our ultimate goal of practicing veterinary medicine, which can lead to a career in private practice, research, education, industry or public health. We also hope to educate students on the variety and requirements of veterinary schools. We will accomplish our goals by providing exposure to various aspects of veterinary medicine, including hands-on experience, community service opportunities and off-campus club trips, while aiming to create a supportive and friendly environment.

Minority Association of Pre-Medical Students

Drexel’s Minority Association of Pre-Medical Students is committed to extend the mission of the Student National Medical Association in supporting underrepresented and minority students who are actively pursuing a career in medicine. We aim to provide resources, academic guidance and mentorship to premedical students to increase the number of culturally competent and socially conscious physicians. We strive to create a campus environment that fosters academic and professional growth.

Pre-Medical, Pre-Health Graduate Student Association

The purpose of this organization shall be to assist students in the process of applying for admission to graduate health care-related institutions; including but not limited to MD, DO, PA, PT, OT, etc. This organization shall also facilitate a sense of community by providing students with events, outreach opportunities and informal membership, ultimately encouraging a rewarding student experience.

Maternal and Child Health Student Organization at Drexel University

The mission of this organization is to explore a broad range of maternal and child health topics, including birth outcomes, family planning, the role of fathers, child and adolescent health, environmental conditions that impact the health of mothers and children through a collective effort involving guest speakers, article discussions and community activities in order to disseminate maternal and infant/child health information to our peers and the community around us.

Drexel Hospitality Society

Drexel Hospitality Society (DHS) exists to promote the enrichment and success of students interested in Hospitality Management and Culinary Arts/Science fields through learning, experiential, and networking programs. DHS aims to create pathways for students to make meaningful connections with fellow Center for Food and Hospitality Management students, other Drexel University degree program students, and professionals in the hospitality and culinary industries.
