Where did you grow up?
I was born in Kenya and came to America when I was six years old. Most of my life I grew up in Lancaster, PA.
Where did you do your undergraduate work?
I graduated in 2019 from West Chester University with a degree in Cell and Molecular Biology.
Why did you choose the PA profession?
I always knew I wanted to go into health, but figuring out the exact field was a journey. I chose the PA profession because it allows me to have a more active role in the medical decisions of my patients. For example, my father, an immigrant with kidney failure, struggled to navigate the health care system. He needed a health care provider to whom he could relate, understand his frustration and who was willing to guide him through the process. Also, the PA profession allows me the ability to move from specialty to specialty.
Why did you choose the Drexel University PA program?
I chose Drexel University PA program because of its dedication to primary care and providing care focused on underserved areas. As an educated minority woman, I want to specifically work in underserved communities and be able to serve as a role model and allow my patients to have someone that looks like them.
What music is currently on your playlist?
Currently, my playlist consists of a lot of African music. But, of course, Beyoncé is preparing for her upcoming concert!

I am currently obsessed with planning a one-month Southeast Asia backpacking trip.
Where is your favorite vacation spot?
Kenya will always be my favorite vacation spot. There is no better feeling than returning home.
Tell us one fun fact about yourself that may not be on your resume.
I am the first person in my family to attend college and graduate school. As a result, I serve as a role model to my younger siblings to show them they can achieve anything!

Where did you grow up?
I grew up outside of Philadelphia in Lansdale, PA.
Where did you do your undergraduate work?
I began my undergraduate work with online classes through American Military University while I was enlisted in the Navy. I later completed the majority of it at Drexel University.
Why did you choose the PA profession?
In short, I wanted a meaningful career where I could be directly involved in helping others. I enjoyed my time as an EMT prior to PA school, which motivated me to seek further education in health care and a profession with more capabilities. After meeting a lot of “burnt out” individuals in both the military and EMS, the potential for lateral mobility in the PA profession was very appealing to me.
Why did you choose the Drexel University PA program?
Many of the veteran resources and tutoring services during my undergraduate studies at Drexel were instrumental in ensuring my success in my classes, so I welcomed the opportunity to continue my graduate studies in that environment. I saw the 20 weeks of primary care provided by the Drexel PA program as a great opportunity to ensure I was prepared before I eventually begin practicing as a certified PA.
What music is currently on your playlist?
A wide variety, with a lot of Red Hot Chili Peppers, Stevie Ray Vaughan, The Beatles and Tyler Childers.
What is an item on your bucket list?
Hike the Appalachian Trail.
Where is your favorite vacation spot?
Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
Tell us one fun fact about yourself that may not be on your resume.
For my honeymoon, my wife and I went backpacking through Patagonia.
