I was raised about 45 minutes north of Philadelphia.

Where did you do your undergraduate work?
I completed my undergraduate degree at East Stroudsburg University located in the Pocono region, majoring in Athletic Training/Sports Medicine.

Why did you choose the PA profession?
I think the PA profession chose me. Until a couple years before I applied to PA school, I don’t think I even knew the profession existed. Unfortunately, or fortunately, my athletic career needed to be sidelined due to surgery, but throughout the recovery process, I learned about the physician assistant profession. It was meant to be. I always thought I was just seeing the doctor or nurse, but apparently there is more to medicine than that! Who knew? You’re telling me that schooling is only +/- 27 months, and I can be in the OR one day and be able to see scheduled patients the next? I’m sold. But wait, there’s more! You can change specialties if you want to without more schooling? Sign me up. Training in sports medicine as an undergrad, I always got a sense of joy and satisfaction, helping athletes return to play after an injury or being the first to come to their aid. I knew I wanted to do more in medicine and widen my scope of practice. The PA profession was just a perfect fit.

Why did you choose Drexel University PA program?
Going into the application process, Drexel was always towards the top of my list and checked the most boxes. There are not many programs that have Drexel’s proven track record, even ranking in the “Top 10” by U.S. News and World Report and competing year after year with the national PANCE pass rate. That speaks volumes about the program and the faculty. Part of Drexel’s PA Program’s mission statement is to “improve healthcare delivery in rural and urban medically underserved areas.” I strongly believe this is an area that needs more attention from other PA programs, as well as all healthcare providers. It’s always a plus when you have a recently graduated cousin from the program to help guide you, acting as a great resource and mentor (shout out to Mike). With Drexel only a quick train ride from my parents’ house, I am able to live at home, keep the homecooked meals coming and not leave PA school with an even bigger hole in my pocket than the one that exists. Thanks Mom and Dad!

What music is currently on your playlist?
I am not a huge music kind of person. I really just go with the flow of whoever has the aux, obviously playing their playlist and not mine. If it’s a summer day kind of vibe, I don’t mind country music. Otherwise, R&B/Hip-Hop will do.

What is an item on your bucket list?
Being a big sports fan, I think it would be really cool to experience all 30 MLB ballparks. Let’s just say I have a long way to go.

Where is your favorite vacation spot?
I’d have to say Ocean City, NJ. Having a shore house turns it into more of a second home rather than a vacation spot, but it still feels like a vacation trip to me each drive, even if it’s just for the weekend in the middle of winter.

Tell us one fun fact about yourself that may not be on your resume.
Some people tell me that having approximately 70+ pairs of shoes is unhealthy. I don’t know, I haven’t seen that disease in Current 2021 yet, so you be the judge.

Where did you do your undergraduate work?
I completed my Bachelor in Kinesiology at the University of Kentucky - Go Wildcats!

Why did you choose the PA profession?
I have always been told I am an advocate at heart, however, I do not see myself in this way. In preparation for thinking through “what I wanted to be when I grow up,” I just knew I wanted to support people in the community medically, specifically the African Diaspora and immigrants globally, and the PA profession was the best avenue to do that. Additionally, through my work in multispecialty, I realized I wanted a career where I would have more mobility in order to serve the community in different disciplines of medicine, and the profession fit perfectly. Being a PA would provide me with the training to do what I love and serve communities in need.

Why did you choose Drexel University PA program?
The program’s training regimen and overall reputation speak for itself. However, after doing extensive research on the program, including talking with current students, alumni and faculty, I knew Drexel would be a great choice for me. Plus, having a strong support system was very important to me when entering PA school, so as a double Dragon, I was grateful to have that.

What music is currently on your playlist?
My playlist has a little bit of everything from neo-soul to Kentucky bluegrass to reggae. I was fortunate to be exposed to many different genres of music through my childhood, so I enjoy getting to explore the world through song.

What is an item on your bucket list?
I want to medically serve women and young girls within the African Diaspora around the world. This population globally is plagued with health disparities and ongoing racial violence that continues to negatively impact their health.

Where is your favorite vacation spot?
While I do have many favorites, I really enjoy New Orleans. The culture within the city is very unique, and the history speaks volumes.

Tell us one fun fact about yourself that may not be on your resume.
I really enjoy soccer, and one day I would love to be able to go to Spain to see a Real Madrid soccer match.
