Rubert Scholarships Announced

Four students at Drexel University College of Nursing and Health Professions are each recipients of a $10,000 scholarship from the William and Theresa M. Rubert Memorial Scholarship Trust. The Trust provides financial awards for qualified persons who wish to attend Drexel University’s College of Nursing and Health Professionals. Students must be full-time and academically qualified BSN co-op pre-junior, junior or senior with financial need to be considered.

More than 48 scholarships have been awarded to-date having a value of over two million dollars. Individual scholarships may vary, but students are generally awarded $10,000/year for tuition, fees and housing. All scholarships are for BSN co-op pre-junior, junior and senior students only.

Rubert Scholarship recipient Deonna EstradaDeonna Estrada is a four-year junior co-op who would love to care for newborns in the neonatal intensive care unit at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia or for babies as they enter the world as a labor and delivery nurse. Estrada is one step closer to making that goal a reality as a recipient of a scholarship from the William and Theresa M. Rubert Memorial Scholarship Trust.

 

Rubert Scholarship recipient Ashley WeissAshley Weiss, a five-year co-op student, will be graduating in 2019. She sees herself working in the neonatal intensive care unit at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. The scholarship from the William and Theresa M. Rubert Memorial Scholarship Trust will help Weiss get closer to her dream of caring for the most vulnerable patients.

 

 

Rubert Scholarship recipient Rachael BlockRachael Block is a junior and will be graduating in 2019. Block is using the scholarship from the William and Theresa M. Rubert Memorial Scholarship Trust to help advance her aspirations toward being a pediatric oncology nurse.

 

 

Rubert Scholarship recipient Jenny KwonJenny Kwon is interested in a different area of nursing. She is pursuing a degree at Drexel, with the help of a scholarship from the William and Theresa M. Rubert Memorial Scholarship Trust, so she might work with adolescents who suffer from psychiatric or neurologic disorders.
