Manal Naseeb and Virginia Lemon, both PhD students in Nutrition Sciences working with Stella Volpe, PhD, were each selected to present three-minute talks (based on their submission of their three-minute videos) at the Drexel Emerging Graduate Scholars Conference, to be held on Thursday, April 27, 2017.
 
Naseeb will present on “Dietary Magnesium Intake in Relation to Fasting Glucose and Insulin Concentrations, Body Mass Index, and Risk of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in Middle School Students” while Lemon will present on “Conquering the Freshmen 15.”
 
PhD student Dan Dychtwald and his advisor Brandy-Joe Milliron, PhD had a poster accepted to present at the National Women, Infants, and Children Association Annual Conference, being held at the Downtown Philadelphia Marriott from April 2 through 5, 2017. Their poster is entitled, “Exploring the Role of Fathers in the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Supplemental Nutrition Program”
 
An abstract by Nutrition Sciences’ Professor Debi Ferrarello entitled, “Baby-Friendly Practices and Infant Safety: Finding the Balance” will be presented at the United States Lactation Consultant Association in San Antonio, Texas in May 3 through 6, 2017.
 
Chalmers C. Clark, PhD of College of Nursing and Health Professions will present the keynote address at the 12th Annual Graduate Philosophy Conference on Bioethics at West Chester University on April 22, 2017.
