  • Gloria Donnelly, PhD, RN, FAAN, FCPP, professor in the Divisions of Graduate and Undergraduate Nursing, has been appointed Dean Emeritus.

     

  • Joseph Boullata, PharmD, clinical professor in the Department of Nutrition Sciences, recently presented lectures on Intravenous Lipid Emulsions in Charlotte, North Carolina and in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. The well-received presentations were made one week after the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved a third-generation intravenous fat product following eager anticipation by clinicians and patients alike. These products have been available in many other countries for two decades. 

     

  • Jennifer Nasser, PhD, associate professor and director of the PhD Program in Nutrition, received a College of Medicine Clinical and Translational Research Institute (CTRI) grant entitled: “ERG evaluation of food and drug specific effects on retinal response to light”. Nasser’s co-investigators are: Wei Du, MD, Department of Psychiatry, College of Medicine; Weiye Li, MD, PhD, Department of Ophthalmology, College of Medicine; and Joseph I Boullata, Pharm.D, Department of Nutrition Sciences, College of Nursing and Health Professions.

     

  • Stella Volpe, PhD, was one of six people invited to NASA from July 11-13, 2016 to advise on long-term space flight nutrition/physiology.

     

  • Rose Ann DiMaria-Ghalili, PhD, associate professor in the Division of Graduate Nursing, Doctor of Nursing Practice Department and the Nutrition Sciences Department, was an invited presenter on Nutrition During Care Transitions at the October 2015 meeting of the Food and Nutrition Board of the Institute of Medicine (Now called the Health and Medicine Division of the National Academies of Science Engineering and Medicine). The workshop summary is now published.

     

  • Dan Dychtwald, MS 2016, now a PhD student in the Department of Nutrition Sciences, has been elected State Regulatory Specialist for the New Jersey Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
