Greensgrow Farms Mobile Market at Stephen and Sandra Sheller 11th Street Family Health Services
September 22, 2015
Every Thursday from October 1 – October 29 from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m., the Greensgrow Farms Mobile Market will be stationed at Stephen and Sandra Sheller 11th Street Family Health Services. The Mobile Market sells high-quality seasonal produce purchased directly from farmers, including many growers from Philadelphia. All foods are subsidized, making them less expensive than the regular supermarket!
Items include: locally grown fruits and vegetables, cage-free eggs, milk and yogurt, pantry and prepared goods and non-local produce (avocados, bananas, mangos, grapes and culturally-specific produce).
The market will accept a variety of payments, including SNAP/EBT, WIC & SFMNP, cash, debit/credit and Philly Food Bucks to increase the amount of fresh, local food families can purchase.
This is a community initiative and is open to anyone! This season is a pilot, with hopes of it becoming a permanent weekly stop through November and into the next growing season. For more information call Jennifer Warshaw, RDN, director of nutrition education at Stephen and Sandra Sheller 11th Street Family Health Services at 215-769-1116.
