A Message from Dean Gloria Donnelly
October 26, 2015
With fall term well underway, midterms upon us and cooler temperatures setting in, I’d like to recognize some incredible achievements that have already come to fruition from the College of Nursing and Health Professions (CNHP) this academic year.
This month, the Drexel University Physician Assistant (PA) Program was granted Accreditation – continued status by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA). As stated by Pat Auth, program director of the PA Program, “The PA Program’s successful accreditation site visit is a direct result of the combined efforts of the PA faculty, professional staff, students and preceptors. We are very grateful for everyone’s continued support.” The ARC-PA noted zero (0) areas of noncompliance with the Standards. The date for the next validation review of the program by the ARC-PA will be September 2025.
Fourteen of our clinical programs eligible for national accreditation have maintained full accreditation status for the past 12 years.
Additionally, at the October 8, 2015 pinning ceremony for the Accelerated Career Entry (ACE) Baccalaureate Nursing Program, we learned of yet another impressive accomplishment. Eighty-nine percent (89%) of the graduating class had already passed their boards as of the ceremony. That is the largest group to date to pass the boards by pinning.
CNHP graduates continue to pass Board Certification and Licensing Examinations at rates that are well above national means.
I wish all students, alumni, faculty and staff much success on this upward trajectory toward academic excellence. Congratulations to all!
