Physician Assistant Olympics
May 28, 2015
On April 18th, the students from the Drexel University Physician Assistant Program participated in the 13th Annual Physician Assistant Olympics, which was founded on the principle of philanthropy. The event served two purposes; to allow for Physician Assistant students from different programs in the Philadelphia region to get together and engage with each other, and to raise money for a worthy cause by combining resources to make a greater difference in our community. Each year the participating programs choose a different charity. The Marfan Foundation was chosen as our charity this year by the seven universities that participated in this year's event:
- Drexel University
- Arcadia University
- Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine
- DeSales University
- University of the Sciences
- Philadelphia University
- Salus University
The Drexel University Physician Assistant students raised $2133.83 for the charity. The collective fundraising goal of $5000 was easily surpassed this year with the total donations crushing all twelve previous years’ donations. The combined donations raised by the seven Physician Assistant Programs totaled over $11,000.
