Drexel Faculty Helps Impact Climate Change
March 9, 2015
Drexel College of Nursing and Health Professions Adjunct Faculty member Leon F. Vinci, DHA, MPH is helping to impact our planet’s environment and the health of the public.
Vinci is co-author of a policy resolution for the American Public Health Association (APHA) entitled "Addressing the Urgent Threat of Global Climate Change to Public Health and the Environment." This critical policy statement has been approved for ratification this November at the APHA national conference and exhibition in Chicago.
The American Public Health Association has a strong Student Assembly (many Drexel students/faculty are members) and is headquartered in Washington, DC. The APHA is highly involved in public health and environmental protection across the globe. Other international activities include working on the Ebola outbreak in West Africa and being involved with collaborations with other multi-national agencies including the WHO (World Health Organization) and AID (Agency for International Development).
