Gena Alulis, RN HU ‘74, chief executive officer of jewelry manufacturer Superfit Inc. in Philadelphia, was featured in an article in The Philadelphia Inquirer about the company’s patented hinge-and-latch technology that allows a ring to be clipped into place at the base of a finger, rather than slid over a knuckle.

Matt Dane Baker, PA-C, DHSc, HU ’83, became provost of Philadelphia University. Dr. Baker is also a professor, of Physician Assistant Studies at the University. He previously served as executive dean of the College of Science, Health and the Liberal Arts, and prior to that, he was the dean of the School of Science and Health. He has been with Philadelphia University since 1994, and he has been instrumental in working with faculty to develop new programs in health sciences, disaster medicine and management, community and trauma counseling, athletic training and sports medicine. In addition to his degree from Hahnemann, he earned a doctorate of health sciences from Nova Southeastern University, a MS in gerontology from St. Joseph's University, and a bachelor's in criminal justice from Stockton University.

Daphne Brooks , Behavioral Health Counseling ’09, published her first children’s book titled Kennedy’s Big Visit.

Joanne Christian, RN, HU ‘80, a former hospital administrator, former associate director of student health services, and supervisor of critical care/emergency/labor and delivery, ran for a seat on the Appoquinimink Board of Education in Odessa, Delaware but unfortunately lost the election. She is currently a partner and owner of Paul R. Christian, DMD general dentistry. She served on the Appoquinimink School District Board from 2001 to 2012.

Michelle Conley, DrNP(c), MBA, BSN, RN, FABC, Radiologic Technology, HU ‘89, chief nursing officer at Aria Health, was appointed to the board of trustees at Aria Health. Prior to joining Aria, she served as associate chief nursing officer at Pennsylvania Hospital, where she was also a staff nurse and nursing director in the acute inpatient psychiatry unit and labor and delivery units and clinical director of women's health services and psychiatry.

Kerri Link Heckert, RD, MS, Human Nutrition ’11, a registered dietitian at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, wrote an article, "Why You Shouldn’t Skip Meals" on Philly.com. She is a yoga instructor, ACSM certified Health Fitness Specialist and a certified personal trainer.

Robert J. Longenecker, DPT, OCS, CSCS ’10, owner and physical therapist at Hartz Physical Therapy in Lititz, Pennsylvania, won two marathon races on consecutive days.

Karen Malt, RN, MSN ’15, a nursing instructor at the Hazleton Area Career Center, was featured and quoted in an article, "Practice Makes Perfect" in the Standard Speaker, a local Hazleton, Pennsylvania newspaper, about her students' hard work and dedication to receive certification in nursing.

Alice Valenti, MA Creative Art Therapy, ‘08, artist and creator of "The Sensible Forest," a collection of mixed-media works, will have her work exhibited at the Rehoboth Art League’s location in Henlopen Acres, Delaware.

Erie Vitiello, MA Creative Dance/Movement Therapy HU ’77, announced her retirement, effective July 1st, from the Davis Arts Center. Ms. Vitiello has been with the Center for eight years.

Cheryl Lynne Nichols Williams, AS, Nursing, HU ’84, deputy chief of the State Health Benefit Plan in the Georgia Department of Community Health, was appointed to the Bariatric Surgery Pilot Program Review Panel by Governor Nathan Deal of Georgia.
