Alumna Jamie Rincker’s Legacy: A Food Guide for Drexel’s Entire Campus

July 29, 2013

Jamie Rincker, a recent graduate of Drexel’s master’s program in Nutrition Sciences, worked with Nutrition Department chair Stella Volpe, PhD, and Victor Tringali of University Wellness to create the food audit, “Feed the Dragons, A Guide to Healthier Food Selections on Campus.”

“We aimed at reaching staff and faculty with the food audit of the healthy eating selections available on campus,” Rincker said. The guide highlights what menu choices around the University’s campus are the healthiest, which are less healthy and tips on how to eat well at work.

The audit has also become a helpful addition to the resources at Drexel's Center for Integrated Nutrition & Performance (CINP), a collaboration between the Nutrition Sciences Department, Recreation Center and University Wellness. The CINP provides evidence-based nutritional advice to the entire Drexel community. “This audit contributes to the University’s wellness as a whole, helping people make better choices nutritionally,” Volpe said.

Jamie Rincker currently works as a dietetic intern at Drexel University.
