Maggie O’Neil, PhD, an associate professor in the Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Sciences Department, has been invited to the White House Summit and Research Forum on Improved Health and Fitness for Americans with Disabilities, which will take place in Washington on October 6 and 7, 2014. The Summit will highlight the efficacy of the I Can Do It, You Can Do It! Program and the Guidelines for Disability Inclusion, as well as discuss needed areas of research in diet, motivation, and outcomes that will improve the health status and lives of children with disabilities.

Nancy Gerber, PhD, Director of the PhD Program in Creative Arts Therapies, presented “Art Therapy Research: Origins and Destinations,” at the Delaware Valley Art Therapy Association (DVATA) Annual Conference on September 20. Donna Radl, a PhD candidate in the program, presented “Hands-On Self Book © Workshop” with co-presenters Mary Donald Nagle ’03 and Maureen E. Vita, MA, ATR ‘10 at the same conference.

Former Drexel faculty member Alison Ventura, PhD, was awarded a National Institutes of Health (NIH) RO3 grant for her research, “Does knowing the amount of milk in the bottle alter infant feeding practices?” Ventura, who has since moved to California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California, applied for the grant while working as an assistant professor in the Nutrition Sciences Department at Drexel University.
