Patty Gerrity Named Semifinalist for Philadelphia Magazine Challenge

October 27, 2014

The Drexel College of Nursing and Health Professions’ own Patty Gerrity has been selected as a semi-finalist in Philadelphia Magazine’s Be Well Philly Health Hero Challenge!

Patty Gerrity, PhD, is a professor and the Associate Dean of Community Programs at the College. She is also the founding director of the Stephen and Sandra Sheller 11th Street Family Health Services of Drexel University (11th Street), a nurse-managed health center meeting the needs of thousands of patients in a medically underserved North Philadelphia community through integrated primary and behavioral health care, dental care, and an extensive range of health-promotion services and programs. 11th Street offers affordable services to urban residents seeking care as well as clinical training opportunities to Drexel students. A nationally recognized innovative model of care by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and by the American Academy of Nurses, 11th Street is currently undergoing an expansion that will allow the center to virtually double in size, serve more patients, and offer additional services.
