Patti Zuzelo, PhD, a clinical professor in the Doctor of Nursing Practice Department, was invited by the National League of Nursing to participate in a strategic action group to explore inclusivity and its relevance to nursing education, leadership development as it relates to cultural due diligence, and creating inclusive academic environments that foster the retention and graduation of culturally diverse students. The meeting will take place November 3 and 4 in Washington, D.C. Zuzelo has also been elected to the Executive Committee of the newly established Nursing Section of the Gay and Lesbian Medical Association (GLMA). In the upcoming year, she will serve as Recorder.

Elizabeth Tomaszewski, MSN '09, an assistant clinical professor and Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program Track Director, was named to Nurse Practitioner Schools’ list of the 15 Top Adult Gerontology Professors. Valerie Cotter and Elizabeth Teixeira, both graduates of the College of Nursing and Health Professions’ DNP Program, were also named to this list.

Ruth Devereaux, MSN '08, a faculty member in the Complementary and Integrative Therapies Program, just passed her board certification as an Advanced Practice Holistic Nurse. Devereaux is the first College of Nursing and Health Professions faculty member to achieve the APHN-BC credential.

Barbara Amendolia, DrNP '11, an assistant clinical professor in the Doctor of Nursing Practice Department, was featured as one of the “10 Top Neonatal Nursing Professors” on the Nurse Practitioner Schools blog.
