Ross Appointed Science Editor of Holistic Journal

Stephanie Maxine Ross, Director of the Complementary and Integrative Therapies Advanced Study Program at the College of Nursing and Health Professions, has been appointed Associate Science Editor of the highly respected, peer-reviewed Holistic Nursing Practice Journal. For the past eight years Ross has held the position of Department Editor for the journal. She serves on the editorial and advisory boards, in addition to being a featured writer.
Ross is an internationally recognized expert in the scientific clinical spectrum of complementary and integrative medicine with a specialty in the clinical applications of phytomedicine (botanical medicine) and biochemical nutrition. Her work has been extensively referenced by scientists and medical researchers in Germany, Italy, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. Ross’s publication, “Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD): Efficacy of Standardized Matricaria recutita Extract in the Treatment of Generalized Anxiety Disorder,” was the focus of Ross’s presentation at München Universität in Germany during the summer of 2013.
Ross was recognized by the American Botanical Institute for her contribution to the fields of phytomedicine and botanical taxonomy for coining the term “psychophytomedicine,” which defines a special classified group of phytomedicines that are used in the treatment of mood disorders. Her forthcoming paper, “Psychophytomedicines: A Review of Clinical Efficacy and Phytopharmacology for Treatment of Depression, Anxiety and Insomnia,” will be featured in an upcoming issue of the Holistic Nursing Practice Journal.
