Linda Dayer-Berenson Presents in Athens

Linda Dayer-BeresonLinda Dayer-Berenson, PhD, an associate clinical professor in the Division of Undergraduate Nursing, Accelerated Career Entry (ACE) BSN Department, presented her research study at the 2nd International Conference on Health and Medical Sciences in Athens, Greece that ran from May 5-8. The conference featured more than 55 presentations.

Dayer-Berenson’s peer-reviewed oral presentation, which opened the conference, was titled “The Impact of Culturally Competent Educational Intervention with African American Patients with Chronic Low Back Pain.” Dayer-Berenson noted that, “The subjects who had the intervention improved in function and quality of life at a statistically significant level and pain scale decreased at a clinically significant level.”

The conference was sponsored by an independent organization, The Athens Institute for Education and Research (ATINER), which has organized more than 200 international conferences since 1995. ATINER is an association of academics and researchers that was founded in Ottawa, Canada. Their mission is to become a forum where academics and researchers from all over the world can meet in Athens, Greece to exchange ideas on their research and discuss the future developments of their discipline.
