Linda Wilson Named Fellow of the AAN

linda wilson headshotLinda Wilson, PhD, who serves as the Drexel College of Nursing and Health Professions’ Assistant Dean for Special Projects, Simulation & CNE Accreditation and as an associate professor in the College’s Advanced Role MSN Program, has been selected to join the fellowship of the American Academy of Nursing (AAN).

Wilson joins 167 other inductees, representing all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and 24 countries. She was chosen based on her leadership in education, policy, and management to improve the health of our nation.

“I am thrilled and honored to be selected as a nurse for induction into this prestigious nursing academy!” said Wilson, who is a Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse, Certified Ambulatory Perianesthesia Nurse, is Board Certified in Nursing Professional Development, and is a Certified Nurse Educator. Wilson served as President of the American Society of Perianesthesia Nurses and is currently on the American Nurses Association’s ANCC Commission on Accreditation Site Surveyors. This year, Wilson was also honored with an invitation to join the Fellows of the National League of Nursing Academy of Nursing Education.

Wilson will be formally inducted into the AAN on October 18, 2014 at the Academy’s 2014 Transforming Health, Driving Policy conference in Washington, D.C. Following her induction, Wilson will add “FAAN” to her title, joining the other distinguished faculty at the Drexel College of  Nursing and Health Professions who carry the same credential: Gloria Donnelly, Dean of the Drexel College of Nursing and Health Professions, Patti Zuzelo, a clinical professor in the Doctor of Nursing Practice Department, Patricia Gerrity, Associate Dean for Community Programs and Director of the Stephen and Sandra Sheller 11th Street Family Health Services Center, and Roberta Waite, an associate professor in the Doctor of Nursing Practice Department and Assistant Dean of Academic Integration and Evaluation of Community Programs.
