Kathleen Fisher, PhD, is a federally funded researcher and an associate professor in the Doctor of Nursing Practice Department at the Drexel College of Nursing and Health Professions. Since 1999 she has been working in the field of intellectual and developmental disability, or I/DD.

“Choice, hope, and empowerment.”  These are the three words Veronica Carey, PhD, an assistant clinical professor in the Behavioral Health Counseling Department, used to describe the potential outcomes of psychiatric rehabilitation.

Year after year, losing weight is one of the most popular New Year’s resolutions in The United States. With the promise to themselves to lose weight in the new year, people often times opt to go for the perceived “magic bullets” of dieting, the fad diets.

 In 2013, Donna Sabella, PhD, authored a chapter of the book Sex Trafficking: A Clinical Guide for Nurses, which was just named an American Journal of Nursing (AJN) Book of the Year Award recipient in the Community-Public Health category. 

Samantha Beaino, an undergraduate student in the Nutrition Sciences Department at the College of Nursing and Health Professions, was recently awarded the Urban Sustainability Initiative Fellowship Grant (USI) for a total of $7,500.

Patti Zuzelo, EdD, a clinical professor of Nursing in the College of Nursing and Health Professions, was recently selected to serve on a national expert panel within the American Academy of Nursing, dealing specifically with the health care concerns of individuals in the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) community.
