Name: Michelle Sahl

Research: Urban health and the urban environment; professionalism
Areas of interest/curiosity: Architecture and urban landscapes; indoor gardening; politics; theater
What I like about Drexel students: Their enthusiasm for novelty! Things new and different pique their interest
Favorite place to eat on campus: In Center City, Swann Lounge at the Fours Seasons (well, you asked for my favorite even though I rarely get there!) University City, White Dog Cafe
I can’t live without: Ice cream, but I really, really try to…..and of course I can’t live without humor in life!
Favorite part of my job: Teaching and working with our students to be the best they can be!
My favorite thing about Philly: Diversity and history in every neighborhood
My favorite course to teach: HSAD 310- Introduction to Health Systems Administration, because it is often the first time students get a bird’s eye view of the vast and complex nature of our health care system and how interrelated it is to the whole of our society. It’s more than just clinical care.
The best advice I have for students: Be curious, always, and learn how to learn.
If I could trade lives with another person for a day it would be: Tina Fey or Betty White- funny, enduring, charitable, and pulls no punches!
Something most people don’t know about me: I’m short
My best stress reliever: Classical music and walking long and hard
My greatest achievement so far at Drexel: Getting students connected with networking and broadening their career considerations
You’ll never see me: Getting yet another graduate degree J
One thing that always cheers me up: Time with friends and family… and dogs and puppies (not permitted in my apartment building but I love them!)
Words I live by: “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world; indeed it’s the only thing that ever has.” –Margaret Meade
Three words I’d use to describe my department/office: Awesome, synergistic, fun-loving
When no one is around I: Talk to myself (but I also talk to myself when anyone is around)
