The Stephen and Sandra Sheller 11th Street Family Health Services was featured in a NBC News segment on July 4 about Bill Cosby, who was named the 2nd Greatest Pennsylvanian. The footage is of Mr. Cosby during his Summer 2013 visit to the health center. On October 5 that year, Mr. Cosby performed a benefit concert at Drexel to help raise funds for the center’s expansion
Rose Ann DiMaria Ghalili, PhD, an associate professor in the Doctor of Nursing Practice and Nutrition Sciences Departments, was mentioned in a Long-term Living magazine article on July 7 about the review article she published on nutrition screenings for older adults.
Jennifer Warshaw, Health Education and Outreach Coordinator at the Stephen and Sandra Sheller 11th Street Family Health Services of Drexel University, was interviewed by reporter Ali Gorman, RN, for a 6ABC video, “The Right Amount of Fruits and Vegetables for You.”

A July 17 Philadelphia Inquirer article featured Maria Ciancetta, who quit teaching to become a nurse. She will join the College as a student in the ACE BSN Program this fall.
Rachel Driscoll, MS Nutrition 2015, was included in a July 23 Freeport News article. This summer, Driscoll worked at the Healthy Head-to-Toe Camp in the Bahamas. Her mentor was Professor Nyree Dardarian from the Nutrition Sciences Department. Driscoll is the second student from Drexel’s Nutrition Sciences Program to work at the camp after Kristen Kochenour went last year.

Susan Smith, PhD, associate professor and Associate Dean for Research, was quoted in a Philadelphia Inquirer article about local universities competing for health professions students. She specifically addressed current challenges in the field of physical therapy pertaining to clinical training for students.
The Smart Cup, a device designed by Rose Ann DiMaria Ghalili and an interdisciplinary team from Drexel, was featured in the latest issue of Exel Magazine. The Smart Cup accurately measures patients’ consumption of liquid supplements in the hospital and could be used to ward off malnutrition and undernutrition, especially in older adults.
Stella Volpe, PhD, professor and Chair of the Nutrition Sciences Department, was interviewed as a guest on “In Focus” on WPHL-TV (MY PHL-17) on August 9 to discuss the Philly Play Program that’s helping kids in the city be more physically active.
